CONTENT:

  • Successfully pass the API 570 Piping Inspector certification exam.

  • Perform all basic piping calculations needed for the API exam (e.g. tmin, test pressure, MAWP, MDMT, corrosion rates, remaining life, etc.)

  • Design of piping for internal pressure.

  • Use API’s requirements during inspection, repairs, and alterations of piping

  • Effects of corrosion on the piping.

  • Temperature effects on piping.

  • Effects of Creep, Fatigue, Stress, Corrosion, Cracking, and Pitting.

  • Inspection methods: External, Thickness and Auxiliary.

  • Inspection of buried piping.

  • Estimation of safe remaining life.

  • Repair, alternation and re-rating of piping

  • Hydrostatic and Pneumatic testing.
